Meet Your Therapist

Passionate About Inspiring Others

My name is Vita Hall and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Los Angeles County, and providing telehealth therapy throughout the state of California. I work with individuals, couples and families experiencing a range of psychological challenges. I have worked in agency settings, residential rehab and in private practice.

I have experience working with many issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, substance use, mood disorders, grief & loss, relationship problems, ADHD, career challenges, LGBTQ+, and changes in the life cycle.

I have extensive experience working in community mental health with adolescence, individuals, couples and families. Additionally, I had the honor to work with veterans struggling with homelessness and mental illness. It was a rewarding experience. Moving a veteran into their own one bedroom apartment after years on the streets was a momentous feeling. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to be of service to our veterans. I continue to be of service in my practice.

Primarily, I practice person centered psychotherapy, and when appropriate I incorporate CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, as well as coping and mindfulness skills. Most importantly, I provide a safe and warm environment where clients feel understood and supported.

I’ve had the opportunity to have a previous career in Art. My undergrad is a B.A. in Studio Art. I worked in museums and galleries, doing exhibition design and installation. My primary former career was as an Art Director in entertainment. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work in art in many forms. I value all my experiences. I learned to be strong and resilient in the face of a very demanding job, extreme time restraints and long hours. I learned the excitement of seeing your work on screen and the disappointments when shows get cancelled. I learned the art of networking and how to hustle for your next job. That is why I enjoy working with clients in the entertainment field. I have a unique understanding of their joys and heartbreaks, and the extreme stresses they endure. Of course this relates to other demanding jobs as well.

Working with Clients

In my practice I strive to meet the client where they are at and I try to understand your perspective. I validate and honor a clients feelings and emotions. People have an innate desire to be seen and heard. If we are not getting it from our family and friends, a good therapist can be there and provide that need for you.

I work from a compassionate and kindness base. I provide a safe holding space where you can talk about your struggles and how you would like to improve. As we move forward I may challenge you to try a new viewpoint or approach.

I start with a brief assessment which will include a bio-psycho-social history. Then we will work together to identify and prioritize your goals and what you would like to achieve in therapy. I will identify and amplify your strengths to help you solve problems.

Primarily I use person centered psychotherapy, but when appropriate I incorporate CBT, DBT and other modalities. As a practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I will help you to be cognizant and aware of triggering events, identify distorted thoughts, and replace them with healthy adaptive thoughts and behaviors.  We will work together utilizing journals and charts to uncover the evidence that illuminates maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. We will work together to learn new coping and mindfulness skills to live in peace and balance.

Together we will work to enhance your strengths, develop new skills, and discover a renewed purpose in life. I looked forward to seeing you grow and thrive.
